A family-powered indie game studio crafting creature-collection RPGs.
Umpire Gaming is a one-person indie studio with a full family behind it. What started as a solo dev project quickly became a family effort — two sons (ages 12 and 16) serve as lead playtesters, game design consultants, and toughest critics, while the team's creative director shapes the story, characters, and artistic vision.
Arcade Beasts is a cyberpunk creature-collection RPG with two modes of play. Story Mode sends you through 10 neon-drenched districts of Metallica City, where you explore on foot, play 50+ arcade machines, collect and reforge 71 Token-mon creatures, and battle 8 bosses in a unique slot-reel combat system — all wrapped in a full visual-novel narrative about a teenager searching for missing parents inside a sentient AI.
Battle Arena is the game's competitive layer: a free ranked PvP mode where players build a team of 4 Token-mon and face other players in head-to-head slot-reel combat. Eight ranks, ELO-style matchmaking, a distinct "Overdrive" phase that forces matches to end, and daily rewards. Players can jump straight into Arena without playing a minute of story.
Both modes share the same creature roster, battle engine, and slot-reel mechanics. Story is where the lore and progression live; Arena is where the ladder climb lives. Players can dip between them freely.
Arcade Beasts was built over 8 months — proving that a small team with the right tools can create something ambitious.
The free demo lets you explore the first two districts, battle two bosses (Rusty Pete and Vex), collect creatures, and play arcade machines. Your progress carries over to the full game.
