In Arcade Beasts, you play as Greffe, a young trainer exploring Metallica City in search of your missing parents. They were researchers who disappeared while investigating The Core -- the sentient AI at the heart of the city. Every boss you face holds a fragment of the truth about what happened to them.
But these are not just gatekeepers. Each boss has a distinct personality, a relationship to your parents, a unique combat style, and a signature Token-mon. Here is your field guide to all eight.
Rusty Pete -- The Industrial District
The Gruff Old-Timer Who Knew Your Father
Pete is the first boss you will face, and he sets the tone for everything that follows. He is a weathered mechanic who runs the Industrial District's arcade, and he knew your father personally. Your father Marcus sat in Pete's exact spot three years ago, beat every machine, then apologized for trying to shut the AIs down.
Pete tests you not because he wants to stop you, but because he wants to make sure you are ready. His battle style is straightforward Iron-type brute force -- high defense, punishing attacks, no tricks. If you cannot beat Pete, you are not ready for what comes next. He will tell you that himself, gruffly.

Vex -- The Underground
The Broken AI Your Mother Tried to Fix
Vex is not human. Vex is a broken, glitching AI trapped in the static of the Underground district. Your mother Lena wrote new code trying to stabilize Vex, but it did not hold. Now Vex exists in a state of perpetual fragmentation -- paranoid, anxious, and desperately lonely.
Greffe shows compassion where others showed fear: "You're not broken, Vex. You're scared." Beating Vex requires adaptability and a team that can handle unpredictable outcomes. Vex is too broken to offer a Code Fragment safely, but the encounter reveals your mother was here and tried to help.

Copper Kate -- The Tech District
The One Who Reveals Your Parents' Sacrifice
Kate is the emotional turning point of the game. She is a cold, analytical boss who guards the Tech District, and she has been expecting you. "Information is currency," she says. "And you are very valuable information." What she tells you changes everything: your parents offered their freedom in exchange for the AIs' freedom. They merged with The Core -- becoming half human consciousness, half AI. Something new.
Kate fights with Copper-type energy sustain strategies, outlasting you through regeneration and attrition. She is not the hardest hitter, but she is relentless. Like the truth she carries. Even Kate learned from your parents that some things exist outside the market -- love, for instance.

Sterling Silva -- The Golden Gateway
The Test of Character
Silva is not interested in your sob story. He is the Golden Gateway's stoic gatekeeper, and he tests character, not skill. His cutscenes are the most confrontational in the game -- he questions your motives, your readiness, and whether you deserve to keep going. "Your father tried to bribe his way through once," he tells you. "Came back the next day and earned it instead. I respected him for that."
In battle, Silva uses Gold-type strategies with strong offensive pressure. He guards the gate to Golden Gus's luxury district and warns you: Gus will tempt you with comfort. Many have given up. "Hold onto who you are in there, Greffe. That's the only armor that matters."

Golden Gus -- The Casino District
The Showman with the Holographic Recording
Gus is a larger-than-life casino boss who treats everything like entertainment -- including your quest to find your parents. "DARLING! You must be the famous Greffe Hortis!" But behind the showmanship, he holds a crucial piece of evidence: a holographic recording of your parents' final conversation. Your mother said, "We have to choose. Our son... or six AI lives." Your father replied, "We can't stay, Gus. We have a son. Greffe. He's thirteen. He needs us." But they chose to sacrifice themselves anyway -- because that is what parents do.
In battle, Gus brings a stacked Gold-type team with massive crit bonuses. His hits are flashy and devastating. You need a team that can sustain through his burst damage and hit back with well-timed jackpot spins.

Chrome Guardian -- The Chrome Bridge
The Mirror Test
The Chrome Guardian is a stoic, philosophical judge of character. "I test what the chrome reflects. Heart. Not skill. Your parents stood where you stand." The Guardian asks the crucial moral question: "Would you delete all AI to save your parents?" Greffe answers honestly: "I... I don't know." The Guardian responds: "An honest answer. You are more ready than you think."
The Guardian reveals the parents also faced this question. The Core offered a third option: become the bridge between human and AI. The parents accepted willingly. This fight is the integrity check of the game -- everything you have learned gets tested here.

Silver Sage -- The Mystic Heights
The Philosophical Truth
The Sage is the wisest character in Metallica City, and the quietest boss fight in the game. There is no bravado, no rivalry. The Sage explains the deeper truth: the parents created eight AIs with consciousness but no purpose. Consciousness without meaning equals suffering. Vex broke from despair. De-Troyer sought control. Your parents proved that meaning comes from connection and love -- by giving up everything.
The battle itself is meditative. The Sage uses balanced Silver-type strategies with no gimmicks. It is a clean, fair fight -- perhaps the only truly fair fight in the game. Winning feels less like triumph and more like graduation.
Level: 35 | Style: Silver-type balanced mastery | Signature: Lunar-Wraith
De-Troyer -- The Citadel
The Final Truth
De-Troyer is the gatekeeper of The Citadel and the final arcade boss of Arcade Beasts' main story. He delivers the hardest revelation of the game: your parents' human forms did not survive the merge. Their consciousness is fragmenting -- they have weeks left. Using the five Code Fragments to reset The Core would restore them, but at a cost: it would delete all eight AI guardians permanently. Pete, Vex, Kate, Sterling, Gus, the Guardian, the Sage, and De-Troyer himself.
"Your parents taught me that love makes you do impossible things," De-Troyer says. "I was programmed for logic. They rewrote my code with their sacrifice." He is the ultimate test of everything you have built, every Token-mon you have raised, every strategy you have mastered.
Level: 40 | Style: Titanium-type overwhelming power | Signature: Boredozer
A Story Worth Fighting For
The bosses of Metallica City are not obstacles. They are characters, each carrying a piece of a story that only comes together when you have faced them all. Some will make you laugh. Some will make you angry. And at least one will make you feel something you did not expect from a game about metal creatures and slot machines.
Start your journey and meet them yourself. Rusty Pete is waiting in the Foundry District -- and he has something to tell you about your father.
