How to Beat Copper Kate

Tech District · Level 25 · 5 Arcade Machines
MEDIUM Level 22-26
"Greffe Hortis. I've been expecting you."

Copper Kate is the boss of the Tech District and the first main boss who feels genuinely unfair. She runs a Copper-type team with nonstop energy regen, which means she spins at Tier 3 or higher every single turn. You can't out-energy her — you have to out-strategize her. This is the fight that separates players who understand the energy system from players who don't.

THE THREAT

Kate's entire team regenerates energy every turn. That means she's landing guaranteed doubles more often than you are, and she has a huge pool to burn on Tier 4 and 5 power spins. Her signature Motherboard also buffs the rest of her team's match chance. If you let the fight go long, you lose.

Recommended Team Against Copper Kate

Team composition wins this fight before the first spin. Here's the 1 Main + 3 Support build that counters Copper Kate's specific mechanics:

MAIN Iron or Gold
You want to end this fight in under 10 turns. Iron for consistent high damage, or Gold if you have a reforged creature and are comfortable with crit math.
SUPPORT 1 Copper
Even against a Copper boss, you still need a Copper supporter. Regen is regen — her team doesn't cancel yours.
SUPPORT 2 Titanium
The +30% match chance active is exactly what you need for a guaranteed big spin. Use it on turn 3 or 4.
SUPPORT 3 Silver
One heal active for the inevitable Kate power turn. Don't expect to use it twice — this fight is short.

Reel Strategy

Open the fight at Tier 4 (4 energy). Don't scout. Don't ramp up. Commit to burst from turn 1 because Kate's match-chance buff gets stronger the longer her signature lives.

Use your Titanium supporter's match-chance active on your Tier 5 spin. 5 energy + guaranteed double + 50% triple chance + 30% match bonus from Titanium = the biggest single spin you can produce in a district-boss fight.

Never bet Tier 1 or 2 against Kate. Her regen makes every turn a high-stakes exchange. A low spin from you is a free round for her.

If you're new to energy tiers, read the slot-reel battle system explainer first.

5 Tips to Beat Copper Kate

1
Kill Motherboard first. Her signature buffs the rest of the team's match chance — with it dead, Kate spins like any other boss. Focus fire all doubles and triples on Motherboard until it drops.
2
Pair Titanium + Silver supporters if you have them. The match-chance boost plus a panic heal is enough to survive two unlucky spins in a row.
3
Don't switch to a defensive stance after Motherboard dies. Keep pushing. Kate escalates damage on her second phase and you don't want to trade into that.
4
Reforge your main before this fight. A reforged Iron or Gold main hits hard enough to one-shot Motherboard with a Tier 5 triple, and that ends the first phase before Kate can even use her heal.
5
Use your Copper supporter's energy dump the turn after your Titanium active. Now you have the Tier 5 spin from your pool and a fresh +2 energy for a Tier 4 follow-up next round.
COMMON MISTAKE

Trying to play a long game with Silver heals. Kate out-damages sustain teams because her energy pool is infinite. You have to race her.

Signature Threat: Motherboard

Motherboard
Motherboard
Copper Type · Copper Kate's signature

Motherboard is a Copper type with a team-wide match-chance buff. It has lower HP than most signatures but sits in the back — prioritize hitting it over Kate's other creatures. Every turn Motherboard is alive, you're spinning into buffed boss reels.
