"Kate sent word. Impressive run so far, Hortis."
Sterling Silva is the second gatekeeper, guarding the Golden Gateway into the luxury districts. Unlike Vex, Silva is a technical fight about controlling the pace of the reels. His Gold signature Aurelius Core forces crit rolls on every attack, which means the damage numbers are huge and unpredictable. You don't out-hit Silva — you out-survive him until his crit streak breaks.
Silva's crits are the real boss mechanic. On a lucky streak he can burst you from full HP in two turns. On an unlucky streak he does barely any damage. The fight is entirely about weathering the opening minute, because his crit rate drops after turn 6.
Team composition wins this fight before the first spin. Here's the 1 Main + 3 Support build that counters Sterling Silva's specific mechanics:

Open defensive. Bet Tier 2 or 3 for the first 4 turns — you're not trying to win the trade, you're trying to survive until Silva's crit rate normalizes.
After turn 6, switch to Tier 4 aggression. Silva's damage output drops and your Chrome reflect has been chipping at him the whole time. You're now ahead.
Bank your jackpots for turn 8+. A Tier 6 spin landed during Silva's weakened phase can end the fight in a single turn.

Panicking and burning every active ability in the first 3 turns. Silva's fight is won by players who wait out the crit streak — emptying your toolkit early means turn 7 you have nothing left and he's still at 60% HP.
Aurelius Core is a Gold legendary with forced crit on every attack. It has the highest solo burst in the gatekeeper roster. Do not let it get a Tier 5 or 6 spin — interrupt it with your own triple on the turn before, or you will lose your main.
